Camosun College Student on Path to Becoming a Transformational Leader

Arden chose Camosun after learning about it at a high‑school event, and a friend’s older sister said great things about starting Camosun. “I thought the sister was a rockstar, and she mentioned in passing about beginning a career at Camosun,” says Arden. “Also, some of my mom’s employees had taken the Human Resource Management program and adored it.”

A major highlight has been the emphasis on hands-on learning. “Working on real projects with actual clients allowed us to gain hands‑on experience in a supportive environment,” says Arden. “It really breaks down how these jobs actually operate.“

Initially shy, Arden faced personal challenges but found Camosun to be a warm and supportive community. “If I had any issues, multiple people would come together to help me find a solution that worked best for me,” he says. “Not only did I find my place here, but I grew as a person.”

Looking ahead, Arden plans to pursue further certifications in cross‑cultural leadership and environmental management. “My goal is to work for organizations like the United Nations, World Wildlife Fund, or other non‑profits, becoming a transformational leader who inspires positive change through ethical and compassionate leadership.”
